The Amazing race, sorda :)

So Brad created a full day of birthday celebrations for me!!!! I knew he had a day planned with special events through out the day, however I didn't know what the day would entail, nor was I suppose to know. It all began with a birthday card on my actually birthday which was Thursday. The card said I would have a whole day of fun and to not worry about anything b/c it was all taken care of. My first clue was to be ready by 7 am on Sat and to stretch first. I quickly figured out I would be going for run. My father in law picked me up Sat morning and we went for a run at Mt. Trashmore. After our run he handed me another card that read "I loved the old donut chef". Yes, I knew I was about to eat :). Adrin dropped me off at the Kempsville grill where I got to eat breakfast with my dad. After we were done with breakfast, my dad dropped me off at my house and handed me another card, it read be ready by 9:30 am and shave your legs, hahahaha. I went home showered and my best pal Kathy picked me up and we went and had an hour massage, so wonderful. Kathy then dropped me off and handed me another card that said to be ready by 12:30 pm. I went showered AGAIN and Alicia, my sister in-law, came by the house to get me. We went to Changes day spa for fabulous pedicures. After they were done with our toes, she handed me another card, with a clue that said "a few doors down a friend is waiting to have lunch with you". It was my long time pal, Carrie. She was in town from FL and I had no clue. she was even here. It was so wonderful to catch up with her!!!! After lunch she handed me my last card.....it read make your way to the mall you have some shopping to do. Carrie dropped me off and there was my wonderful husband waiting for me. I was so excited to tell him how wonderful my day had been. We did a little bit of "window" shopping and then went and saw the movie Four Christmases...it was soooo funny!!! After the movie we met up with my in-laws, Alicia and Kylee for a yummy steak dinner....a perfect ending to a perfect day. Brad did a great job planning this day for me and everything worked out so perfectly. Each person that participated in this day made me feel so loved and special, I thank all of them. Brad is a great husband and I couldn't be more thankful for him!!!! Love you babe!!!!

Fun Weekend!!!

We sure did enjoy the beautiful fall weather this weekend. On Saturday we took Kylee to the zoo. She loved walking all around the butterfly garden. She also enjoyed the petting zoo.

On Saturday night our dear friends, Justy and Kathy and their daugther Sydney came over for supper. Kathy made a fabulous chocolate fondue. The girls got to take their bath together and then off to bed while the mommies and daddies enjoyed some football.

Sunday after church we got to enjoy Kylee's new sandbox that my dad and younger brother built for her. She LOVES it. Sunday evening we had a yummy spaghetti dinner at my parent's house. I think Kylee likes her grandma's spaghetti :)

Walkin' and Talkin'

Kylee just cracks me up!!!! I have a feeling when she is a teenager she will LOVE to talk on the phone!!!!!!

Because Kylee wants to toddle everywhere, we had to buy her some shoes. Her Nana took her to Stride Right and got some adorable shoes.

I am not sure if she loves herself in the mirror or the shoes more?

Kylee just seems to be growing up each day and becoming more and more independent. She is into feeding herself and demands to do it!!!! Not always the neatest thing, but she looks so darn cute doing it.

Kylee has discovered Teletubbies, bad for me b/c they annoy me...good for Tuggles b/c she loves them!!!!

I did it!!!!

I now have offically completed 2 half marathons!!! Though I did not do nearly as well as I did back in 2001, I completed the race before they closed it and I was not taken away by an ambulance...both of which I am proud of :) It was so fun and there are no words to express the goose bumps you get when crossing the finish line!!!

Brad is taking this shot from the hotel that my in-laws were staying at. The hotel was so great because Kylee could take her morning nap there since we were all up at 5 am to get to the race on time.
Kylee was so curious about my medal.
I am super proud of Adrin. He has run 1 marathon and 2 half marathons. He is now 57 years old(sorry for telling your age :) and is still running strong. He beat me in this race and finished 265th in his division. Great job!!!!
Relxing in the hotel hot tub after the race. This was so heavenly!!!!

What a month August has been!!!

We have been so busy this past month I have had no time to blog :). We have enjoy our last weeks of freedom as you can see below!!!

Since turning one, Kylee is now enjoying her "real" milk in her sippy cup. She LOVES it!!!

Though you can't tell really well here, Kylee is taking 4-5 steps at a time. She is still building up her confidence...but, I am sure in the next few weeks or so she will be running all around the house!!!!

We went with Alice to get her ears pierced. She has never had them pierced, so we decided to join in on the fun. This is Alicia and her picking out the studs.

Alice signing the waiver!!!

She was so brave, didn't even wince.

Finally we enjoyed a wonderful vacation with our best buds to Duck, NC. We stayed in a lovely beach house. The house had a hot tub, pool and was a short walk to the ocean. It was so awesome!!!

Rex, Angie, Karyn and Steve
Justy, Kathy, Katrina and Brad.
The boys and their girls at the beach.
The whole gang!!!!

Kylee and her daddy. She is going to miss him tons when he goes back to work.
The mommies and their girls. I got us all these matching Christian Surfers shirts (thanks Jen). Don't we look so cute wearing them!!!
The dad's sure do love posing with their girls.
We threw a birthday party for all the girls since they were all born within 8 weeks of each other. I thought that Kylee might just enjoy her cake this time.
Not so much :(.
Sienna, Kylee, AJ and Sydney

My beach babe. I don't know what we would have done without the beach this summer. Kylee is just a little crab and loves to crawl all around in the sand!!!
Sienna and Kylee packed and ready for an afternoon at the beach.
Kylee loved this mound of sand. She would climb to the top and start digging.
Opening presents at the b-day party. Her own personalized beach towel!!! How cool.
I hope these girls stay best buds through out their lives. They sure did enjoy each other this week at the beach house!!!

We had one of our best summers EVER!!! The time to relax and enjoy eachother without a strict schedule has been priceless. I am sad to have to return to work this week and seperate from Brad and Kylee. I was feeling anxious about this the other night and then remember that Kylee has her Nana all to herself now for the next several months and as a mom, I couldn't ask for a better situation. We enjoyed so much spending time with many of ya'll and can't wait again until next summer!!!!
